Headaches and Migraines

Chiropractic is often successful in relieving headaches

Headaches are always complicated. There are many types of Headaches and many reasons why patients may present with a Headache.

A Chiropractor is trained to firstly and most importantly assess the headache and determine whether the patient needs to be referred for medical attention. Headaches like all pain can, on rare occasions, be a symptom of a more serious condition.

Often Headaches (HA) are classified by the region of the head where the pain is felt and how the pain is distributed. ie Sub-occipital, Tension, Frontal, Sinus etc. However, often these titles may not encompass the full picture. Headaches are complicated and often will include multiple factors.

Headaches will often develop without an obvious cause. Why do people get Headaches? To try and simplify and explain why a patient may present with a Headache, it is helpful to understand stress.

As expected CRP will be elevated when you have a physical ailment but it will also will be elevated if you have psychological/emotional trauma or if you have a poor diet! These three stresses, physical, emotional and chemical may also be a cause of Headaches.
